Common Reasons to Contact Sky TV
If you’re not able to watch any TV channels through your box, then this could be because of a number of different reasons. First, pay close attention to any error messages you see.
If the information message on screen is prompting you to upgrade your subscription, then it could be that your account has been suspended because of non-payment. Check your bank statement to see if you have been paying your bill, usually by Direct Debit. If you find that you are in arrears, then give the Sky contact number a call and they will be able to help you get your account paid and up to date.
If you get a message that a technical error has occurred, try restarting your box by unplugging the power cable out of the back of your set top box for at least 30 seconds. Plug it back in and wait for the box to initialise. You should now be able to watch television again.
If you still can’t receive any channels, make sure the two aerial cables plugged into the back of your box are correctly connected. These can be identified by the hexagonal housing and sharp end of the cable, and they usually come in pairs. Make sure they are connected securely and then restart your box.
The last thing to check is to make sure your viewing card is valid and in the right Sky box.
If you’re still having problems watching TV, then contact Sky broadband customer services phone number a call on the helpline number at the top of the page.
Common problems with Sky Broadband
If you’re struggling to connect to the internet, your broadband connection could be at fault.
The status lights on the front of your Sky Hub or broadband router will help you understand which problem is affecting your broadband connection.
For their standard Hub, if all of the lights are on and white, then your Hub is connected and ready to access the internet. If there are no lights, then there is no power being sent to your Hub.
If the smiley-face internet light is flashing orange then there has been a problem detected, and the Hub will continue to try to build a stable connection to the internet. If this lasts longer than two minutes then Sky Hub has an issue, and you will need to speak to the helpline team.
If your internet smiley-face light is off, but the power light is on, then it could be that the internet port on your Sky Hub is not plugged in to the network connection. Re-read the internet setup manual that came with your Hub or give the number a call to ask for some help with your broadband router.
One of the main reasons people sign up for Sky TV is to access their award-winning suite of sports channels. Sky Sports is the home in the UK of the Premier League, the NFL, Formula One, the Six Nations and all sorts of competitive sport. All broadcast live on any number of thier seven live sports channels.
Also included with the Sky Sports package is the leading Sports News, a 24-hour rolling news network bringing you all of the latest sports news and football rumours from across the world. Introduced in the early 2000s, this is one of the most watched channels in the UK and is the home to shows such as Gillette Soccer Saturday and the Transfer Deadline Day Special.
To upgrade your package to receive Sky Sports, or to find out how you can get six months free included in your TV package, give the Sky telephone number a call on the number at the top of the page.
One of their newer inventions is Sky Go, and this will let you access hundreds of TV channels without the need for a satellite dish or even a television!
Using the internet, if you’ve got a Sky Go subscription you will be able to stream live sports, movies and television through your smartphone, tablet or laptop using their website. You can register up to two devices to watch these channels on, and you’re able to add or remove a registered device once a month.
Alternatively, you can upgrade and add-on the Sky Go Extra pack, which will let you watch Sky TV on a games console, including a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One too. This package costs £5 per month and will let you register an additional two devices, bringing the total number of devices allowed to 4.
Part of their offering but branded under a separate name, Now TV lets you sign up to a temporary subscription with no contract or long-term tie in. Viewers can use their tablet, smartphone or PC browser to watch Sports with various levels of access, including a day pass, weekend pass, week pass or a month pass.
This is great for when you want to spend the weekend watching sport but avoid signing up to a long term contract with Sky satellite TV.
You can also sign up to just the Movies package, or just the Sports package, to really fine-tune which package you want to watch. You can also subscribe to the Sky Sports Monthly package, which at £31.99 per month on a rolling 30-day contract is much more cost effective than a full TV subscription if you only watch sports.
Contact Sky helpline on the number at the top of the page to find out how you can start watching Now TV today.
