Who is Tesco Mobile?
Tesco Mobile was set up in 2003 after it had already branched out into other financial areas including insurance and banking. The virtual network boasts a whole host of awards for its services, including uSwitch’s Best Value Mobile Network in 2016, as well as the Best Pay as you Go Network in 2016.
As it runs on O2’s infrastructure, this means it can provide 99% coverage across all of the UK. It also offers a 4G network at no extra cost, and again this piggy backs on the back of O2’s offering.

It is also able to boast about a unique award. In Ofcom’s report into UK communications companies, The company was able to brag about having the least number of complaints per 100,000 customers. While Vodafone topped the poll with 32 complaints per 100,000, It only had one complaint for the same volume of customers.
The company also offers its customers the ability to upgrade their phones at any time they want, even if they are in the middle of a contract. It does this by offering the customers a clear ‘early upgrade fee’ that they must pay if they are looking to get themselves a new handset. By being on the company, customers can get extra value and rewards simply by using their mobile. These rewards include things like double credit and extra Clubcard points.
Tesco Mobile also offers ‘Xtras’, which is a way of getting your pay monthly contract and SIM only deal down £3 per month with the use of their app.
The app, available only on Android phones, will display an advertisement whenever you unlock your phone. You can either open the app or close it, but by having the option enabled you will save £3 each month on your bill.
